VERONA COMMUNITY MEAL: Riverside is hosting the Verona Community Meal on Wednesday, July 25 from 4 - 6:30 PM at the Verona United Methodist Church. For more information or to get involved, please contact Jodie Skanderson at or 412.596.2493.

OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY: Calling all vacationers! Please collect and save the sample toiletries (the free, small-sized soaps, lotions, shampoos, etc.) from the hotels you visit this summer. This fall, the RCC Hope Team will collect these toiletries to distribute to local families in need through the food banks in our area.


C-GROUP LEADERS DIRECTORY FORMS: Fall Semester C-Group Leaders need to submit Directory Forms to David Kennard no later than Friday, August 17.

RIVERSIDE SUMMERFEST AT THE PARK: Meet old and new friends at Riverside Park on Sunday, August 26 from 3-7 pm. From 3-4 pm, there will be a flag football skills challenge and cross country races sponsored by the Riverview Athletic Association. From 4-7 pm, enjoy fun games and activities, music, and food trucks! The park pavilions will be available or you can bring your lawn chairs. The food trucks coming are Edgar’s Tacos, Oakmont Barbecue, D’s Road Dogz, Oh My Grill, Kona Ice, and ice cream. All food trucks will accept cash and credit/debit cards for payment. 

You can be a part of the event team or lend your sturdy yard games for group play. Email if you want to be on the team or have a game you think we should play. We can’t wait to celebrate summer and kick-off of another exciting year at Riverside with you!


SPECIAL NEEDS RESPITE NIGHT: Friday, September 7 from 6:00 - 8:30 pm at the Mills, with drop-off beginning at 5:30 pm. This night is specifically designed to provide respite for kids with special needs and their families. More information and registration will be available soon.

C-GROUP SIGN-UPS: Connect and Contribute Groups online catalogs and sign-ups will be available September 1. Visit to find out more about C-Groups and link to the Connect and Contribute Group Catalogs. Sign-ups will be available at both Oakmont and the Mills on Sunday, September 9. 

CONNECT GROUP LEADERSHIP TRAINING: Sunday, September 9 at 6:30 pm in the Cafe at the Oakmont campus. All current leaders should plan to attend.

NEXUS STUDENT MINISTRY KICKOFF: Senior High Kickoff is on Sunday, September 9 at 7 pm for grades 9-12, and Junior High Kickoff is on Wednesday, September 12 at 7pm for grades 6-8. CHRISTIANITY 101 SEMINAR: Saturday, September 22 from 9 – 11:30 am at the Parkside campus in Oakmont. DIVORCECARE and DIVORCECARE 4 KIDS (DC4K): Groups will be offered Tuesday evenings this fall. DivorceCare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. Whether current, recent or even years ago, we meet to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Alongside DivorceCare, DC4K group is a safe, fun place where children (age 5-12) can learn skills that will help them heal. There is a cost for each participant of DivorceCare and DC4K of $20 each which includes the workbook. DC4K groups blend games, music, stories, videos and discussion to help kids process the divorce and move forward. Learn more about DivorceCare at

MUSICIANS: Riverside’s Worship Ministry is looking for new musicians to serve during Sunday morning worship gatherings. Right now we’re in need of drummers and electric guitarists. If you’ve got musical talent, consider using your gifts to help lead God’s people; we’re hoping to launch into the fall with a full team. Training is available to those who are interested.
